Ester

Ester is based on a chair that was part of the range during the 1970s.

“I found an old armchair from the 1970s in Johanson’s warehouse that was so wonderfully comfortable to sit in that we decided to update the de- sign while retaining the dimensions,” says Alexander Lervik. The result was Ester, a slender conference chair that is very comfortable.

Available with four star swivel base, swivel base with wheels (optional tilt mechanism and height adjustment) and wood base.

Wood legs available in oak, white stained oak, black stained oak, ash, white stained ash and black stained ash.

Choose from 405 RAL colour finish as standard.

Accessories including wheels for 03 base in black white and chrome

Extras including tilt mechanism and height adjustment of 03 base. Felt Gliders.

Choose from 405 RAL colour finish as standard.

The back is made in moulded CMHR foam & the seat consists of wood and CMHR foam (density 65kg) that meets the highest requirements for flammability (CMHR quality). The legs are made of finished/lacquered wood.

Fire certificate (Danak). All steel parts are recyclable. Before we finish the chrome/lacquer all grease/oil is removed by alkaline wash and then sent for destruction. The lacquering is produced by electrostatic epoxy powder coating that gives a minimum of waste. The electrostatic chrome (chrome 3) is recyclable. The plastic parts that are used are recyclable by grinding. All upholstery and frames of synthetic material are totally without C.F.C. emissions. All glue is water based.

Alexander Lervik

Alexander Lervik is one of Swedens most well known designers, collaborating with a number of national and international producers, including Moroso, Zero, Designhouse Stockholm and Johanson. Though his main focus is lighting, furniture and product design, he also creates concepts for hotel and restaurant interiors and collaborate with fashion brands.

 

Throughout the years, Lervik has received a number of awards, amongst them Red Dot award, Best of The Best at 100% design, +1 Best in show at Stockholm Furniture fair, Utmärkt Svensk Form and the prestigious award Design S. he is represented at Nasjonalmuseum in Oslo, Nationalmuseum in Stockholm and the design museum Rhösska in Gothenburg, Sweden.
