V.Brokkr’s continued investigation of traditional metalsmithing techniques seeks to renew the relevance of craft within contemporary spaces. The Nodes series of wall sconces were designed to reference an animal-like character. 

Wall light to be installed (hard-wired) by an electrician.

About the Artist

Trained as a Silversmith and worked under Australian and German masters, Ned Vernon looks through a different lens of architectural hardware. It was taking a considered approach to new and traditional techniques that looked beyond commercial considerations of mass production—with a reverence for noble materials and a desire to produce lasting objects that become a meaningful part of someone's home, hopefully lasting through the generations. With the time spent in Germany and other European capitals, Ned noticed doors and the hardware were carefully crafted objects that referenced the architecture and the period. 

Different cultural rituals and mythical symbolism of the door, such as protection, transience, and the family unit, are inspired by Brutalism and Italian mid-century design movements. 

V.Brokkr produces limited editions and constantly evolving product lines using traditional silversmithing techniques and hollowware construction techniques. 

V.Brokkr welcomes work in collaboration with architects and designers.
