Knitting Chair

The Knitting Chair by Ib Kofod-Larsen, first introduced in 1951 and now reissued by Audo under its “Modernism Reimagined” vision, distils Danish Modern into a light, sculptural lounge seat. Its signature elbow cut-outs free the arms for knitting or reading, while the low, relaxed profile and finely balanced proportions create an easy, inviting sit. Poised yet practical, it slips naturally into contemporary living spaces, reading corners and hospitality settings. Available in a range of finishes and upholsteries to suit your scheme—please enquire for options.

Ib Kofod-Larsen (1921–2003) was a quiet force of Danish Modern. Working widely for international clients, he was known for refined, organic forms, exacting proportions and a maker’s attention to detail. His celebrated lounge chairs—including the Penguin, Seal and Elizabeth—pair material sensitivity with lasting comfort, securing his place as one of the era’s most thoughtful and enduring designers.
