Split stool

Split is defined by the meeting of soft upholstery and a distinctive architectural metal frame. The textile extends down into the structure, connecting with the legs to create a seamless transition between soft and structural elements.

The frame is formed from split metal tubing that creates a series of intersecting arches beneath the seat. Where these arches meet the pointed upholstered form, Split takes on its distinctive character — sculptural, tailored and slightly organic. Carefully placed seams reinforce the geometry of the design and give the stool a precise, considered finish.

Designed by Färg and Blanche, Split was conceived as the beginning of a broader furniture family. The collection launches with bar stools and a bench, with its generous upholstery and strong structural language designed to translate easily across a wide range of interior environments.

The combination of textile and metal also allows considerable freedom with colour and material selection, from subtle tone-on-tone schemes to more contrasting combinations, giving architects and interior designers scope to tailor Split to individual projects.

FSC-certified timber seat with polyether foam padding.

Finished or powder-coated metal frame.

The electrostatic epoxy powder-coating process minimises waste, while all steel components are recyclable. Upholstery and synthetic frame materials are produced without CFC emissions, and all adhesives are water based.

Certifications and testing

Meets Möbelfakta fire requirements.

Polyether foam tested to CAL TB 117.

Standard fabrics meet EN 1021-1 and EN 1021-2.

Additional classifications, including BS 5852 Crib 5, are available on request.
