Norm Architects works to a set of design principles which appeal to the design aficionado. Concepts built around a minimalist, functional approach, with clean lines and carefully selected details. Quiet design attributes that result in pieces of furniture that work exactly as they’re intended to.
In the case of Enclose, Norm looked to nature for inspiration for this attractive wingback. Two shells, resting on a wooden base that invite you to sit. Both shells are individually upholstered, easier to change the look over time if you desire. A companion that will follow you loyally through life.
Embrace is a scaled down version of the studio’s statement armchair, Enclose. Created to allow plays on scale and height within a space when combined with Enclose, Embrace’s reduced size is a little more versatile in the home environment.
Both pieces gives the user the ability to upholster the armchair in combinations of textiles and leather and its exposed wooden frame and legs can be specified in a number of finishes. A beautiful take on the classic wingback.
Embody was originally created as a stool to complement the Enclose armchair. Yet, the piece had such a strong identity it warrants a life of its own. A strong oak base rises to meet the soft seat cushion which can be upholstered in textile or leather. Use it as a footstool, sure. But feel free to grab it whenever you need an extra chair or somewhere to perch for a while.
